A Gourmet Getaway Through the Seasons

Here, every season is a reason to indulge! The chill of winter brings us the region’s black diamond: the famous truffle of the Drôme des Collines. Spring's gentle warmth sets the orchards in bloom. In summer, cherries, peaches, and apricots are bursting with sunshine. Autumn ushers in harvest season and sets our vineyards ablaze with color. From your taste buds to your eyes, delight awaits all year round in Ardèche Hermitage.

The Black Truffle of the Drôme des Collines

Its secret is well kept, yet it often steals the spotlight: the famous black truffle of the Drôme des Collines, known by its Latin name Tuber Melanosporum. A true gem of gastronomy, it elevates even the simplest dishes with its unique and exquisite flavor. The terroir of the Herbasse region offers ideal conditions for its growth, much to the delight of local chefs.

To unlock the mystery of this precious fungus, join a truffle hunt with a passionate truffle grower from late November to the end of February. An unexpected stroll among truffle oaks reveals the special bond between dog and master. The visit ends on a delicious note with the traditional truffle grower’s meal.

Springtime Stroll Through the Blossoming Orchards

In the heart of spring, the orchards put on a breathtaking show. Almond trees are the first to bloom, heralding the arrival of the season. Soon after, cherry, apricot, and peach trees burst into blossom. Like an impressionist painting, the landscape comes alive with soft greens and delicate touches of pink and white. Nature awakens — a true feast for the eyes.

Summer Fruits of the Rhône Valley

Here comes summer — cherry season and a bounty of orchard fruits. The scent of ripe peaches, the sweet flesh of Bergeron apricots, freshly picked and already on display at the market stalls. What a joy to buy fruit directly from local producers — freshness guaranteed.

Taste the Rhône Valley's fruit in the form of jam from La Ferme des Genêts and juices from  Nectardéchois, two must-visit spots. Take home a few delicious souvenirs that will make your gourmet stay in Ardèche Hermitage last a little longer.
