A little paradise for lovers of nature, located 2 kilometers from little town of Saint Donat on Herbasse in the heart of the “Drôme des collines”. Sébastien Gonzalez is the architect, the carpenter, the receptionist ... but above all the owner of this little haven of peace. 5 unique and ecological perched huts, in the heart of 6 hectares, an enchanting place where Mother Nature is queen!
These treehouses can accommodate from 2 to 6 people, to spend à night in a wonferful place. True perched hut among trees, several meters high, no water, no electricity, genuine charm, simple but comfortable furnishings.
Dry toilets, solar showers, eco-friendly dwellings, each of these facilities underline a committed approach.
Note one of the cabins is accessible to people with reduced mobility, via a wooden footbridge. It is however a perched hut, it is even the highest with its 9 meters high. The “Cabanes des Collines” offers different formulas and even offer a service "B&B" with sheets and towels provided, packed lunch and / or basket appetizer on request.

I spend a night in a treehouse
The gift-giving race is officially launched! Not easy to find the original idea that will surely please and delight the whole family. Yet Santa Claus has the resource and it seems that he knows me very well because last Christmas, he had the good idea to give me a wonderful gift “a night in a tree house in Drôme”. A weekend with the family, in an idyllic and peaceful setting, certainly, close to home but why not! After all a night in the trees, it's an experience, I would say a real adventure.
We decided to enjoy the charm of autumn and its treasures for our stay in Ardèche Hermitage. I had never imagined playing tourists on my own region, a truly unusual experience. A simple and warm welcome, a beautiful reception area in wood, an authentic and lively place. Sebastien gave us a tour of his place, we were able to discover the different treehouses We will spend the night in a "Coquille*"! And yes it's the name of our cozy cocoon for this night in a tree house. Alice, 7 years old, could not help but run to the swing below the hut. 30 seconds later she is climbing into the cabin, she runs everywhere and I follow her. A nice terrace welcomes us, we run to the door and there, surprise, the door is lifted, weighted with a counterweight, like a secret passage. I still hear "ouaaaaah" of my sweetheart!
Once inside, my eyes go directly to the ceiling, I discovered a glass roof. A night in a tree house and under the stars, real happiness. This cabin is built around an oak of about fifty years, 3 windows around him reminding that he is the master of the place. Late afternoon, Alice builds her own hut and collects some pine cones. Meanwhile, we hang out on the swing while admiring the horses, donkeys and ponies of the neighbouring meadow. We planned our picnic to enjoy the terrace but we still order a sweet basket, with some local product, with the sparckling white wine called Clairette and the nice fried pasta : ravioles . Installed on the terrace, our order arrives, once again the magic operates. The basket is attached to a rope and we trace our delivery thanks to a pulley. In this season the days are shorter and the night cooler, so we spend our evening indoors by the light of the extra lamps, sharing board games. We were not really tired when we went to bed, but rather happy to be able to lie down under the Milky Way and finally sleep in the stars. In the morning, we enjoy our breakfast basket on the terrace, contemplating one last time the amazing view.
This place is full of magic, reminiscent of childhood memories, a simple and touching place.

The huts of the hills are located 500 meters from the leisure center of Champos, ideal during the summertime. Supervised bathing area, paddling pool, water jets for the youngest and water slides... Discover the charming little town of St. Donat sur Herbasse and its splendid collegiate set. In love with heritage, make a detour to the castle of Charmes sur Herbasse to discover the life of castellan. Finally for gourmets, the inescapable Ronjat Bakery, to taste the famous “Pognes Donatienne”, local specialty, reminiscent of a brioche flavored with orange blossom.
