The Château de Lemps ( Lemps’ Castle) : a family bed and breakfast.

Share some friendly moments for a night  in this beautiful building of the 9th century, in this bed and breakfast.
A place full of history and emotions where 6 generations lived. Every castle owner had different ideas to make this place live throughout time. The current owner, Isabelle du Tremolet, renovated some rooms and bedrooms to offer a bed and breakfast. A atypical place in the middle of the village of Lemps where Isabelle give free rein to her creativity to give this place a warm and harmonious atmosphere.
On top of that, you also have access to her large garden where you can nap or read at the foot of a centenary cedar. A vegetable garden is also there so that Isabelle can make some delicious meals for her guests.

The Château de Tournon ( The Tournon’s Castle)

Located in Ardèche, in Tournon sur Rhône, the castle is one of the most beautiful of the department. Listed historical monument and certified « Musée de France », this castle is a must-see ! Its history throughout time is a testimony of the evolution of society : former residence of the Count of Tournon, transformed into a prison and a museum. You’ll find a chapel located on the south terrace but also another one with a view of the city, the Rhône river and the vineyards. You can also see some exhibitions during your visit ( 2 exhibitions per year) !

The Château de Charmes ( Charmes’ castle)

At the heart of the Drômes des Collines, on the heights of the vilage of Charmes sur l’Herbasse, you can see a castle : the Château de Charmes. 1000 years of history awaits for you. Discover the life of a castle owner with : Nicolas de Chenivesse. Throughout centuries, the castle was transformed by the different owners including Imbert de Bathernay, the grandfather of Diane De Poitiers. The castle also had a period of abandonment and damages but thanks to Nicolas’s passion and determination, the castle renewed itself and open a new page of its story. Nowadays, the castle is open to visit with family activities such as riddles paths, nighttime visits or sublime decorations for Christmas.

Hikes and strolls around a castle

Near Tain l’ Hermitage and Tournon sur Rhône, we have a lot of hikes paths which some are about castles or remains. With your backpack and some sneakers, go discover our heritage.

 

The hike «  Le Circuit des Châteaux » : ( the castles’ path)

Starting from the village of Arlebosc, walk 11.8 kilometers with a 441 meter elevation gain (4h30). The path allows you to walk near the Castle of Arlebosc and the castle of Bozas, near the river, fruit trees or undergrowth.

A car ride between the wine routes and heritage.

Start from Tain l’Hermitage heading toward Larnage, for the vineyards route. On this small road at the heart of the vineyards is hidden a treasure : the remains of the Château de Larnage. A exceptional place !

 

Navigate on the Rhône with a view of the 3 castles Between Tournon sur Rhône and Valence with the Compagnie des Canotiers : board for an original cruise with a sight of a lock.
