Lac de Champos and its sports and tourist complex are an ideal training base.
On this VMA workshop around the lake, you'll be helped by signs suggesting training sessions and markers every 100M. V.M.A. stands for Vitesse Maximale Aérobie (Maximum Aerobic Speed) and is the running speed at which the runner reaches maximum oxygen consumption (known as VO2max)! In concrete terms, it's the most sustained pace you can maintain on a regular basis for 4 to 6 minutes. Evaluating your V.M.A. allows you to extrapolate (in %) the maximum speed you'll be able to maintain over different distances... and to train at paces suited to your abilities!
