Hermitage Hill

Description

Located on this hill, the slopes of Hermitage, a prestigious vineyard in the Northern Rhône Valley, are emblematic of the landscapes of the regional terraced vineyards. The 140 hectares are listed as a national heritage site. The terraced vineyards supported by low dry-stone walls are the legacy of successive viticultural practices that have left their mark.

The classification perimeter is that of the "AOC Hermitage" appellation d'origine contrôlée, slightly enlarged to the north by the addition of the ridge-top "Les Grandes Vignes", and covers the communes of Crozes-Hermitage, Larnage and Tain-l'Hermitage.
